CONSUMER SURPLUS
Излишек потребителя
Дополнительная полезность или удовлетворение, которое получает потребитель, приобретая товар по цене, которая в действительности ниже цены, которую он был готов заплатить за этот товар. Рассмотрим график. Излишек потребителя максимизируется только в условиях совершенной конкуренции, когда цена определяется спросом и предложением, и все потребители платят одинаковую цену. В других рыночных ситуациях (см. график (б)), где цена определяется, например, монополистом, ограничение предложения продукции на рынке и рост цен на нее приводит к потере части излишка потребителя (на графике - заштрихованная область PPmXE). Если бы монополист, осуществляющий ценовую дискриминацию, мог взимать разные цены с каждого отдельного потребителя, которые соответствовали бы максимальной сумме, которую потребитель был готов заплатить,то ему удалось бы присвоить весь излишек потребителя в виде дохода от продаж.
